If you've changed your name, say due to marriage, you'll need your degree certificate or medical registration reissued in your new name, along with your marriage certificate or an affidavit that shows both your old and new names. Just submitting the marriage certificate or affidavit isn't enough.
After you book your test, you'll receive an automated email from Pearson VUE confirming your booking and telling you what ID you need to bring.
The College doesn't offer advice on visa issues. Please contact your consulate for any visa requirements needed for the exam. If you need a confirmation letter from the College for the visa application, request it when you register for the exam and do so early.
You can't get a refund if you cancel your exam after the deadline or fail to appear. The fee is forfeited and the attempt counts against your record. However, the College may refund the fee in special cases—check their Extenuating Circumstances Policy for more details.
After the exam, your result and its date become public to some extent. Training authorities in the UK and certain third parties like educational institutions or potential employers can access these details, but not over the phone.
If you're in UK-based training aiming for the Specialist Register, you're allowed up to six tries. If you've failed six times but want to try again, you must submit a detailed case from your Head of School explaining why you should be allowed another attempt.
There isn't a strict time limit, but you need to attempt Part 2 within 7 years if you're a UK trainee looking to enter the UK Specialist Register (extendable up to 10 years). Other candidates must attempt Part 2 within 10 years of passing or being exempted from Part 1. The years 2020 and 2021 are excluded from this time count due to COVID-19 disruptions.
No, but you must attempt the Part 3 clinical assessment within 7 years of passing Part 2. If you don't, you'll need to retake Part 2.
